AUGUSTA — Two men are facing drug charges after police executed search warrants at two North Street apartments Tuesday morning.

Keith Holmes, 22, of New York City, was arrested on charges of trafficking of scheduled drugs, according to a news release from Augusta police Deputy Chief Kevin Lully. Also noted in the release, Douglas Krajewski, 26, of Augusta, was issued a summons on a charge of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.

At 11 a.m., police executed search warrants in apartments No. 1 and  No. 12 at 30 North St. During the search of Holmes’ residence, police seized $450 in cash, three handguns, one rifle and more than 31 grams of fentanyl. Holmes was taken to the Kennebec County jail.

Lully said police found “basic evidence to support to possession of scheduled drugs” during the search of Krajewski’s apartment. He was issued a summons, then released.

The news release said the investigation was “a collaborative effort by the Augusta Police Department, Maine Drug Enforcement (Agency), and Kennebec (County) Sheriff’s Office.”
