OAKLAND — Paige St. Pierre hit a contested shot with 3.2 seconds remaining to give the Waterville girls basketball team a 44-43 win over Messalonskee on Tuesday night.

Kalli Thompson led the Purple Panthers with 15 points and had eight rebounds. Kiera Gilman scored 11 points and Abby Saucier added 10 points for Waterville.

Ashley Mullen led Messalonskee with 13 points, while Brooke Martin added 11 points.

 

CARRABEC 47, MADISON 36: Cheyenne Cahill and Courtney Rollins each scored 14 points to lead the Cobras to a victory in Madison.

Brooke Welch added six points for Carrabec.

Brooke McKenney and Arabel Linkletter each scored nine points for Madison.

 

MARANACOOK 48, WINTHROP 40: Grace Dwyer scored 15 points for the Black Bears in a win over the Ramblers in Winthrop.

Natalie Whitten added nine points for Maranacook.

Maddie Perkins led Winthrop with 14 points, while Lydia Rice added 10 points.

RANGELEY 55, VALLEY 52: Winnie LaRochelle scored 38 points and had 13 rebounds to lead the Lakers to a victory in Rangeley.

Emily Eastlack had 13 points and five assists, while Ellah Smith had four points and 10 rebounds for Rangeley.

Logan McDonald led Valley with 18 points, while Madeline Hill added 17 points.

 

NOKOMIS 54, MCI 40: Camryn King scored 21 points and had eight steals to lead the Warriors to a win over the Huskies in Pittsfield.

Maya Cooney scored 11 points, while Emma Hodgdon added nine points for Nokomis.

Hanna Robinson led MCI with 14 points.

 

BOYS BASKETBALL

 

OAK HILL 72, BUCKFIELD 20: Ramon Spearman scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Raiders to the win in Wales. It was the season opener for both teams.

Maverick Swan added 13 points for Oak Hill (1-0) while Alex Fournier had 11.

Buckfield (0-1) was led by Gavin Charest with nine points.

 

CONY 68, ERSKINE 48: The Rams shot 15 of 34 from 3-point range en route to the victory over the Eagles in Augusta.

Parker Sergent scored 14 points and Kyle Douin added 11 to lead the Rams.

Dan Page scored 22 points and Nick Barber grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Erskine.

LAWRENCE 61, WINSLOW 57: Zack Nickerson scored 27 points to lead the Bulldogs to a win over the Black Raiders in Fairfield.

Dylan Coombs added 15 points for Lawrence.

Jason Reynolds led Winslow with 30 points, while Reid Gagnon added 11 points.

 

SKOWHEGAN 59, MT. BLUE 40: Adam Savage scored 23 points, lifting the River Hawks to the victory in Farmington.

Kyle LePage had 15 points for Skowhegan, while Collin LePage netted 13.

Zach Poisson had 13 points for the Cougars.
