AUGUSTA — An Augusta man was arrested Thursday on a charge of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon after Augusta police, with the help of state and federal law enforcement agencies, executed a search warrant.

Ray Mack, 27, of Augusta, was taken to the Kennebec County jail, where bail was set at $15,000.

In a news release, Augusta police Deputy Chief Maj. Kevin Lully said Maine State Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and Homeland Security, conducted a search of 7 Waldo St. late Thursday morning. Waldo Street is a short, dead-end street in the Sand Hill neighborhood on Augusta’s west side.

The search of the residence and its occupants turned up illicit substances, a firearm and contraband, according to release.

Lully said the incident remains under investigation and asks anyone with information to contact the Augusta Police Department. No additional details were provided in the release.
