GREENWOOD — The Community Lakes Association is to hold its annual meeting and election of officers on Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Old Greenwood Town Hall on Route 26, 270 Main St.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the meeting convening at 9 a.m.

Mary Wicklund, from Maine Lakes, is to provide an overview of Maine Lakes activities and the LakeSmart program. LakeSmart is an education and reward program that helps lakefront homeowners manage landscapes in ways that protect water quality.

• Ed Rosenberg will provide an update of the Buck’s Ledge Project.

Meeting topics will include a review of CLA activities: Milfoil work on Lake Christopher outlet pond; water quality testing; Invasive Plant Patrol (IPP) paddle on Lake Christopher; financial and budget review; ongoing projects like a loon’s nest on North Pond and information kiosk for the Round Pond boat launch; and election of president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.

The Community Lakes Association protects and improves the ecosystems of area lakes and ponds and promotes respectful stewardship among all users of the waterways in Greenwood and Woodstock.
