SKOWHEGAN — The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office seized more than $4,000 worth of drugs and drug paraphernalia in a Wednesday morning bust, according to a news release.

At 6 a.m., the sheriff’s office executed a search warrant for the home of Amber Beane, 31, in Skowhegan, with the assistance of the Skowhegan Police Department and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. During the search deputies found 26 grams of heroin/fentanyl, suboxone strips, suboxone pills, clonidine pills, 37 grams of liquid methadone, $600 in suspected drug proceeds, drug-related paraphernalia and numerous other pills that the sheriff’s office is working to identify, according to the release from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.

Additionally, the sheriff’s office believes that additional heroin/fentanyl was flushed down the toilet while deputies were waiting to enter the residence, as they found several ripped plastic bags with heroin/fentanyl residue in the bathroom, and drug residue on the floor, as well as on Beane’s hands and clothes, the release says.

Beane has been charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, possession of scheduled drugs and falsifying physical evidence. Her initial court appearance is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on May 11 at Somerset County Unified Criminal Court.

Jessica Dudley, 29, of Wilton, was at the home at the time of the search, according to the news release. She was arrested on a charge of violating condition of release and an outstanding warrant.

The investigation into Beane allegedly selling illegal drugs out of her home is ongoing, and more people may be charged as a result of the investigation, police say.
