AUGUSTA — Workers began installing the basketball floor Tuesday at the Augusta Civic Center for the upcoming Maine high school basketball tournament, which begins Friday and continues through next week.

A crew from the city’s Bureau of Parks & Recreation joined Augusta Civic Center employees Tuesday in putting in the floor, pulling out bleachers and installing guardrails to get ready for the landmark tournament, which is organized by the Maine Principals’ Association.
