SKOWHEGAN — A Somerset County grand jury recently handed up indictments charging 22 people with 62 criminal counts that include charges of domestic violence assault, operating under the influence and theft.

The grand jury handed up the indictments Feb. 24. An indictment is not a finding of guilt, rather an indication there is enough evidence to move forward with a trial. Grand jury indictments include:

• Thomas M. Morrill, 46, of Madison, one count of domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, two counts of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, one count of domestic violence assault and one count of criminal operating under the influence, Dec. 27, in Madison.

• Shannon Burrill, 43, of Smithfield, one count of domestic violence assault, two counts of assault on an officer, one count obstructing the report of a crime or injury and one count of refusing to submit to arrest, Jan. 24, in Smithfield.

• Juan Antonio Olivas, 42, of Odessa, Texas, one count of domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and one count of domestic violence assault, Oct. 24, in Madison.

• Derek A. Knowles, 42, one count of operating after revocation, one count failure to stop for an officer, one count of refusing to submit to arrest, Jan. 8, in Skowhegan.
