WINTHROP — Brooke McKenney threw a perfect game, striking out 16, to lead Madison past Winthrop 11-0 in Mountain Valley Conference softball action Thursday.

McKenney added a two-run single for Madison (5-0) while Lilly Levesque, Landyn Landry, Hailey Paquet and Gilly Bonito each had RBI singles.

Winthrop falls to 3-2.

 

EDWARD LITTLE 18, MT. BLUE 8: Alexis Kelsea went 4 for 4 with four runs scored to help pace a Red Eddies offense that scored in each inning of a five-inning win in Auburn.

Edward Little (2-5) broke a 9-8 game open with a seven-run bottom of the fourth.

Tiana Avila had three hits for the Red Eddies, and Leah Thibodeau, Emily Horton, Izzy Jalbert and Erin Cowie each had two. Thibodeau earned the win on the mound and Maddy Scott earned the save after taking over in the top of the fourth.

Eva Stevens had three hits for Mt. Blue (0-6), including a double, and Katie Yeaton also collected three hits.

 

GARDINER 7, LEAVITT 1: The Tigers took advantage of a big sixth inning to put away the Hornets in Gardiner.

A five-run sixth inning was more than enough for Gardiner (5-0) to put Leavitt away on Thursday.

Lainey Cooley took the win from the circle while catcher Devin Clary hit a single.

Abby Albert and Sam Withee both hit two singles for Leavitt (3-4).

 

LINCOLN 14, CONY 2: Grace Houghton had three hits, including a double, to spark the Eagles to the KVAC victory in Augusta.

Natalie Kaler also had a double among two hits for Lincoln (4-2), while Payson Kaler went the distance in the circle and had two singles.

Penelope Fyfe, Torrie Webber and Bri Madore had singles for Cony (3-3).

EDWARD LITTLE 8, MT. BLUE 4: The Red Eddies scored early and often to earn the win in Auburn.

Drew Smith pitched six innings, giving up three hits and striking out nine batters for Edward Little (3-4). TJ Kramarz pitched in the seventh inning, shutting the door on Mt. Blue with three strikeouts.

Patrick Anthoine had two doubles as the Red Eddies scored two runs in the first and second innings, three in the third and their final run in the fourth

Evan Downing took the loss and Nolan Leso had a double for the Cougars (3-3), who scored their runs in the top of the fourth.

LAWRENCE 7, BELFAST 3: Hunter Lee went the distance on the mound, striking out 10, and also had a pair of hits to lead the Bulldogs to the KVAC win in Fairfield.

Cameron Dostie (double), Andrew Trombley and Logan Carpenter also had two hits apiece for Lawrence (4-1).

Tommy Littlefield (double) and Elias Howard had a pair of hits apiece for the Lions (2-5).

 

CONY 9, LINCOLN 1: A five-run second inning sparked the Rams to the KVAC victory in Augusta.

Jordan Benedict, Tyler Pelletier, James Presti and Kam Douin had RBIs during the inning, while Pelletier, Douin and Presti had hits along with Aiden Fleck, Davis Kibler, Sam Flannery and Brayden Barbeau. Barbeau allowed one run and three hits over six innings for Cony (6-1).

Riley Delisle started for Lincoln (1-5) and went 5 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits and striking out three.

 

OCEANSIDE 4, WINSLOW 3: Duncan Oakes-Nelson followed Alex Bartlett’s sixth inning RBI single with a three-run triple to lead the Mariners (2-4)  in Rockland.

Evan Bourget tallied an RBI single for Winslow (1-5). Caden Fitzpatrick brought the Raiders within one with an RBI single in the seventh while saddling the loss on the mound.

BOYS LACROSSE

 

GARDINER 16, BREWER 8: Cam Rizzo had seven goals and three assists to lead the Tigers to the KVAC victory in Gardiner.

Sean Doyle had six goals for the Tigers (2-3), while Braden Dorogi had five assists. Nate Luiz, Kole Johnson and Angelo Galibois-Barss added one apiece, Colby Maheux had an assist, and Connor Cote made five saves.

Zach Dummon scored five goals for the Witches (2-2). David Goodwin scored two and Seth Edgecomb had one, while Jeff Seamore made 14 saves.

GIRLS LACROSSE

 

MARANACOOK 15, ERSKINE 4: Ashley Deschamps and Anna Erb each scored four goals to lead the Black Bears in South China.

Eliza Pattershall added three goals for Maranacook (2-1), while Lily Cabana had two and Ella Delisle and Xanthe Sawlivich had one apiece. Stella Later made two saves.

Sarah Praul had a hat trick for Erskine (2-5) while Maddy McNeff had the other goal. Emma Henderson made three saves, and Reese Sullivan stopped six shots.

 

OXFORD HILLS 10, CONY 6: Celia Melanson scored four goals to lift the Vikings to a KVAC victory in Augusta.

McKinley Soehren and Kelsey Bennett each scored twice for Oxford Hills (3-2), while Saige Winslow and Gracie Hart had goals and Zaya Vollmar made 10 saves.

Azabell Assaf scored three goals for the Rams (3-1), while Raegan Bechard had two and Andrea Richardson had one. Madison Chavarie made seven saves.
