The Camden Shakespeare Festival will kick off with a preview of how the play “As You Like It” will be interpreted for performances this summer. The online event is set for 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at 8 p.m..

The Camden Public Library plans to host an online discussion with Stephen Legawiec, artistic director for the Camden Shakespeare Festival. Legawiec will introduce Shakespeare’s comedy “As You Like It” which is set to be staged July 13 through Aug. 7 in the Camden Amphitheatre.

Legawiec and the Camden Shakespeare Festival are well-known for their daring and imaginative staging of Shakespeare’s plays. This year, Shakespeare’s beloved comedy “As You Like” will get a 1960’s “Summer of Love” makeover. Legaweic’s preview talk will provide fascinating insights into the play and the inspiration behind the Festival’s unique staging.
