Jefferson Historical Society’s 2023 vintage calendar are available for $10 at the Old Jefferson Town House, 7 Gardiner Road, during an open house set for 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.

The BayView Store is the cover photo for the calendar and 60 fully captioned old Jefferson photos are included in the calendar, dating from happenings in the late 1800s to the 1920s to more recent times.

The business cards of sponsoring local businesses as well as telephone numbers for the Post Office, Town Office and more are in the calendar. They also are available by calling 207-549-525 or 207-549-5592.

The BayView Store was located where the Jefferson Market & Grocery stands today. It was a large imposing building with three floors. The upper level was a large meeting or function room where many events were held. The store operator and family lived in living quarters on the second floor, while general merchandise of all kinds was sold at the ground floor.

The cover photo was taken before 1893 when the building burned, according to a news release from the society.
