WATERVILLE — Morning Sentinel photojournalist Michael Seamans recently was named the photographer of the year in the New England region by the National Press Photographers Association.

It was the fourth year in a row that Seamans has received the distinction.

His latest recognition by the association was based in part on a series of photographs showing nighttime snow-making operations at Quarry Road Trails in Waterville.

“It feels good to be recognized along with many other photographers in the country, and it’s nice to have the Morning Sentinel up there with many other fine newspapers,” Seamans said.
