SKOWHEGAN — Detectives from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office have charged five people, including a 15-year-old, in two cases following a series of thefts and burglaries at homes across the region, according to officials.

Dyan Belomizi, 41, of Norridgewock was issued a summons for theft; Ricky Belomizi, 40, of Norridgewock was issued a summons for theft and arrested on several outstanding warrants; Scott Frost, 35, of Norridgewock was issued a summons for receiving stolen property; and Benjamin Spaulding, whom officials described as a transient, was arrested on a charge of theft, according to a statement released Wednesday by the Sheriff’s Office.

Dyan Belomizi, Ricky Belomizi, Frost and Spaulding were allegedly involved in the theft of a utility trailer and tools from a camp on the Pond Road in Mercer, Chief Deputy Mike Mitchell said in the statement.

Officials learned of the theft July 6, and the subsequent investigation led them to execute search warrants at houses in Norridgewock and Skowhegan in August and September.

The searches allowed investigators to recover the trailer and most of the tools, Mitchell said.

Dyan Belomizi and Ricky Belomizi are believed to be married, but Mitchell did not respond to an email seeking clarification.

The four have court appearances scheduled for either November or December in Skowhegan, according to Mitchell, who said additional charges could be filed after the case is reviewed by the district attorney’s office for Somerset and Kennebec counties.

Separately, the 15-year-old was charged with three counts of burglary, theft of a firearm and several misdemeanor-level counts following burglaries at houses on Airport Road in Jackman and Pleasant Street in Moose River, Mitchell said. The Sheriff’s Office received reports of those burglaries the last week of September.

The resulting investigation led to the retrieval of all the stolen property, Mitchell said.

The teenager is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Dec. 5 in Skowhegan.
