Now in business for nearly 40 years, the Augusta-based real estate firm previously known as Coldwell Banker Rizzo Mattson Realtors has rebranded and is operating as Rizzo Mattson, Realtors.

The transition became effective on Nov. 1. The company of 21 real estate agents will no longer be associated with Coldwell Banker and will revert to an independent family-owned business, as it was previously, according to a news release from Brian Rizzo, designated broker-owner of the firm.

Commenting on the transition, Rizzo said, “We wish to thank Coldwell Banker for its 20 years of ongoing support and look forward to continued relationships with these trusted associates. Although we have transitioned back to our previous name, we are excited to be moving dramatically forward, offering our customers new resources, tools, and promotions to offer them an even better experience. And we will continue to provide the same level of professionalism and committed service our customers expect and deserve. Our name has changed, but our core values and business model have not.”

Rizzo, who also serves as the president of the Kennebec Valley Board of Realtors, has been a leader in his family company since February 2001. The company was founded by his father as Ross, Rizzo & Hanna Real Estate in 1983.
