NEWCASTLE  — Lizzy Gruber’s triple-double led the Gardiner girls basketball team to a 68-26 victory over Lincoln Academy on Thursday night.

Gruber, a senior, scored 22 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and added 10 steals for the Tigers (12-0). Savannah Brown scored eight points for Gardiner, which led 33-10 at halftime. Eleven Tigers entered the scoring column.

Mariam DeLisle scored 11 points for Lincoln (3-8).

 

VALLEY 76, TEMPLE ACADEMY 26: The Cavaliers put four players in double figures to roll to victory over the Bereans in Bingham.

Brielle Hill had a game-high 22 points for Valley (8-2). The Cavaliers also got 17 points from Madeline Hill, 13 points and seven assists from Kirsten Bigelow and 10 points and 18 rebounds from Riley Clark.

Mia Fitzpatrick scored 17 points for Temple (1-9).

 

BOYS BASKETBALL

 

MT. ABRAM 62, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 60: Payton Mitchell led the Roadrunners with 21 points in an overtime win in Rumford.

Kaden Pillsbury had 12 points for Mt. Abram (8-2).

Jake New and Zach New each had 15 points for Mountain Valley (5-6).

 

LINCOLN ACADEMY 63, GARDINER 43: Gabriel Hagar made five 3-pointers and scored 22 points for the Eagles (7-4), who opened with an 18-9 in Gardiner.

Lucas Houghton added 10 points.

Zach Kristan paced Gardiner (1-12) with 18 points.

VALLEY 86, TEMPLE 33: The Cavaliers took a 30-9 first-quarter lead and never looked back on their way to the win in Bingham.

Fisher Tewksbury led the offense with 20 points while Harry Louis added 19 for Valley (7-3). Brody Ricker was also in double figures with 14 points.

Temple (1-9) was led by Nathan Corey with 13 points.
