Lincoln County Historical Association plans to offer a short program of classes designed to teach the basics of being a volunteer docent.
LCHA’s Docent College can prepare participants to guide tours in any or all of its historic properties: the Chapman-Hall House in Damariscotta, the Old Jail in Wiscasset, and the Pownalborough Court House in Dresden.
Docent College starts with an introductory class at two times: a Zoom presentation from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 29, or an in-person meeting from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 6, at Maine Tasting Center, 506 Old Bath Road in Wiscasset.
Once the introductory course has been completed, participants should be ready to volunteer at LCHA’s properties and share its history with summer visitors.
Attendance at Docent College is free.
