The Humane Society Waterville Area plans to hold its second annual Woofstock Music Festival on Saturday, June 10.

The festival will feature three major events during the day: 5K Woof Run, Canine Carnival, and Woofstock Music Festival. The gathering takes place at the Humane Society Waterville Area, 100 Webb Road, from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The whole day is admission free.

Festivities will kick off with the Woof Run. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female racers. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., and the race fee will be $25, cash only. Racing with dogs is encouraged. Crossfit 137 will be hosting a water stand and donating prizes.

The Canine Carnival will be held in the North field at HSWA, following the Woof Run, at 12:30 p.m. This family friendly carnival will include food trucks, over 20 vendors, a K9 police demo by the Belfast Police Department, a dog agility course by Maximillians Dog Training, a 360 photo booth, a caricaturist, field games and a bounce house.

Starting at 4 p.m., the Woofstock Music Festival will feature four live bands (Cryin’ Out Loud, Riverbottom Funk, Where’s Aaron & Papa Tim and the Whiskey Throttle Band). This year’s beer tent will be hosted by Bigelow Brewing Company, and cocktails will be served by Mossy’s Mobile Spirits.

This event was made possible by several local sponsors. Bangor Savings is Canine Carnival Sponsor, and Assistance Plus is Good Eats Sponsor.
