It’s summertime in my home of Aroostook County, so let’s talk about Rep. Jared Golden’s flip-flops.

Here’s an important one: Voters and the media have been directly asking Golden if he’s going to support Kamala Harris for president. But Golden won’t answer this simple question, even though he supported the Biden/Harris agenda. Flip-flop. Voters deserve to know the answer.

Golden’s latest excuse for refusing to answer? He says that choosing a person to support for president shouldn’t be a knee-jerk decision. I agree. Here’s why Golden’s evasive action doesn’t hold water.

Golden’s had four years to see Harris in action as VP. Before that, she was the most left-wing member of the Senate and a far-left presidential candidate. He knows what she would do as president.

Now, I’ve had four years to see Trump in action. Both Trump and Harris are flawed, like all of us.

But leaders make decisions; they don’t hide in the bushes. And I’ve decided to support Trump because I think his economic policies and agenda of securing the border is what’s best for Maine.

Like many folks, I don’t like his tweets. What I do like is how Trump has promised to protect Medicare and Social Security, get tougher on Chinanegotiate better trade deals for American workers, and put an end to the inflation.

So he’s got my vote, and it wasn’t hard for me to tell you that.

Look, we need more balance, and less extremism in Washington.

I believe that Maine’s congressman should be thinking about the people of Maine rather than pushing their own political agenda. I’m running for Congress to put people over politics. Golden is doing the opposite right now.

The flip-flopping and lack of leadership from Golden is a symptom of him going Washington — and it’s time for change.
