RICHMOND — Rhys Terry had a goal and an assist as Richmond defeated St. Dominic 2-0 in boys soccer action Thursday.

Kenny Mecham also scored for Richmond (1-0), and Ben Fournier added an assist.

Richmond keeper David Edwards made six saves, and Riley Daigle had six for St. Dominic (0-1).

 

MT. BLUE 4, OXFORD HILLS 1: Four Cougars netted goals in a season-opening home victory in Farmington.

Agusti Garcia, Nate Zeliger, Stevie Davis, and Lincoln Tierney each scored for Mt. Blue (1-0). Garcia, Zeliger and Kaden Smith had one assist apiece. Kooper Keller made seven stops in goal.

Brady Roy set up Connor Doyle in the first half for the lone Oxford Hills (0-1) goal. Goalie Cooper Beaudoin made nine saves.

 

TEMPLE ACADEMY 4, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: Frank Addison’s two goals paced the Bereans to a season-opening win in Jay.

Zhouming Zhang and Yuyang Hu each added a goal for Temple (1-0), and goalie Noah Matthews made nine saves.

Wyatt Foss scored Spruce Mountain’s lone goal on a direct free kick from just outside the 18-yard box in the second half. Phoenix (0-1) goalkeeper Blake Gemelli stopped 11 shots.

GIRLS SOCCER

 

LAWRENCE 3, CONY 0: Taylor Pellerin and Zoie Ward each scored a goal and added an assist as the Bulldogs (1-0-0) opened the season with a KVAC B win over the Rams (0-1-0) in Augusta.

Maddie Provost added a goal for Lawrence, which outshot Cony by a 10-1 margin. Zoe Hutchins had a save to earn the shutout for the Bulldogs.

Emma Buccelato had seven saves for the Rams.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2, RICHMOND 0: Tessa Ferguson and Corinne Androkitis scored to lead the Seagulls past the Bobcats in Old Orchard Beach.

CONY 9, WINSLOW 0: Abby Morrill had three goals and an assist as the Rams won their season opener.

Gabby Vachon had two goals and two assists for Cony (0-1), while Helen Dineen scored twice. Katelynn Dutil and Natalie Dube added a goal apiece.

Avery Maxim made three saves in goal for Cony, while Dominique Giroux-Pare had five for Winslow (0-1).
