WATERVILLE — The Alfond Youth & Community Center plans to celebrate Veteran’s Week and support local veterans and their families through Friday.
The center offers free admission for veterans and their immediate household members. The can explore programs from the fitness center and swimming pool to the NinjAdventure Zone obstacle courses designed for all ages.
The Mobile Veteran Unit will be stationed at the center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. This resource offers veterans and their families direct access to services, including health benefits, housing assistance, and community connections. The goal is to make meaningful resources easily accessible to veterans in the community.
In addition, a book drive will be held in the lobby to collect new books. These will be distributed to families in programs at the center who seek assistance with holiday gifts.
