What’s changing?

Beginning September 15, 2025, the standard rate for CentralMaine.com digital subscriptions is increasing to the equivalent of $16.99 every four weeks. Exact charges will depend on your billing frequency.

If your subscription began at a promotional rate, it will continue at that agreed rate until the promotional period ends. After that, renewals will be billed at the new standard rate.

Why the change?

This adjustment ensures we can continue investing in the local journalism you rely on—from breaking news and in-depth investigations to the community stories that matter most to you. Your subscription directly supports the reporters, editors, and photographers who work every day to keep you informed and connected.

For over 5 years, we have kept our standard rates for digital subscription unchanged. But this is no longer something we can avoid. The adjustment from approximate $2/month increase helps us keep pace with the rising costs of producing and delivering trusted local news. Over the past few years, the cost of everything from wages and health care to technology, printing, and energy has gone up significantly. Like many businesses, our expenses have increased well above the rate of inflation.
