The Mt. Abram girls basketball team earned a big win over one of Class C South’s top teams, beating Hall-Dale 44-37 on Wednesday in Salem Township.
Several players contributed to Mt. Abram’s (6-6) victory. Kharlie Turner led the way with 11 points, including six in the fourth quarter, while Bailea Haines and Abby McCarty had eight points each. Four other Roadrunners contributed at least three points.
Sierra Gibbons led the Bulldogs (9-3) with 17 points, highlighted by three 3-pointers. Marie Benoit hit two 3s and added 10 points.
WINTHROP 59, MARANACOOK 21: The Ramblers (10-3) won their eighth straight game by decisively beating the Black Bears (7-5) in Winthrop.
Madeline Wagner led Winthrop with 16 points, including a pair of 3-poitners. Kylee Mansir hit three 3s and scored 15 points, and Caroline Corgan contributed 10 points.
Celia Bergdahl had 10 points and Alice Ferran eight for Maranacook.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 47, BOOTHBAY 36: Kaitlyn Frost scored 21 points to lead the Mustangs (7-5) past the Seahawks (2-10) at Boothbay Harbor.
Rileigh Chase added 12 points to Monmouth’s victory.
Tatum French paced Boothbay with 25 points.
RICHMOND 37, SACOPEE VALLEY 26: Darby Flanagan scored 22 points to lead the Bobcats (6-5) pasts the Hawks (2-11) in Hiram.
Olivia Mason also reach double figures, finishing with 10 points.
Bridget Landry made three 3-pointers and had 12 points for Sacopee Valley.
BOYS BASKETBALL
SACOPEE VALLEY 54, RICHMOND 38: Silas Nielsen scored 10 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, and Sacopee Valley ended the game with a 22-6 run to beat visiting Richmond.
Nielsen also had 10 rebounds and five blocked shots. Tyler Easterbrooks, back in the lineup after missing the previous three games, had nine points and 10 rebounds as Sacopee improved to 3-10.
Richmond (6-4) was led by David Edwards with 13 points, and Jake Gay and Zander Steele with 11 apiece.
CARRABEC 53, BUCKFIELD 38: The Cobras (9-2) were clicking on both ends of the court in the first half, outscoring the Bucks 29-11, on their way to a victory in North Anson.
Pete Vicneire paced Carrabec with 15 points, while Desmond Robinson scored 11 and Seth Price had 10.
Trenton Haskell put up 15 and Ryder Bragg had 10 for Buckfield (5-8).
