Marie Benoit poured in 27 points Saturday to lead Hall-Dale to a 49-39 win over Monmouth Academy in a Class C South girls basketball game in Monmouth.

Sierra Gibbons also reached double figures for Hall-Dale (12-3), finishing with 11 points.

Kaitlyn Frost scored 14 points for Monmouth (9-6), which had a five-game winning streak snapped.

FOREST HILLS 58, ISLESBORO 27: Addison Chaisson scored 22 points as the Tigers (11-5) won in Fairfield.

Kelsey Rancourt added 15 points.

Alma Bewsher led the Eagles (7-6) with 12 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

RANGELEY 57, NORTH HAVEN 26: Dakota Lemoine scored 12 points and Brayden Thompson and Maddox Grey each had 10 to lift the Lakers (4-10) past the Hawks (0-13) at North Haven.

Caden Cabot and Erza Davisson scored seven points apiece for North Haven.

FOREST HILLS 71, ISLESBORO 38: Jaxson Desjardins scored 27 points and Maddox Cuddy added 20 as the Tigers (7-9) won in Fairfield.

Finley Conover led the Eagles (5-8) with 12 points.

SASSI MEMORIAL: Lucas Barstow of Gould Academy and Clara White of Orono won 5-kilometer freestyle races at Black Mountain in Rumford.

Barstow won the boys race in a time of 12 minutes, 8.02 seconds. Alden Reardon of Fort Kent was second in 12:31.8, followed by Beckett Cote of Messalonskee, Henri McCourt of Mt. Blue and Will Brown of Gould.

White was the girls champion in 14:20.5. Kate Carlson of Gould placed second in 14:34.9, followed by Nora McCourt of Mt. Blue, Maya Kellett of Mt. Blue and Reese Furneaux of Gould.

WRESTLING

MVC CHAMPIONSHIP: Six wrestlers from Dirigio won individual titles and the Cougars captured the Mountain Valley Conference team championship in Dixfield.

Dirigo finished with 202.5 points, easily beating Monmouth/Richmond, which finished with 153.5. Mountain Valley was third with 150 points, followed by Madison (138.5) and Lisbon/Oak Hill (85).

Caiden Skidgell (138 pounds), Leighton Waite (144), Kaeden Swan (150), Hudson Lufkin (157), Tanner Bradeen (165) and Gio Patterson (190) were individual champs for the Cougars. Vinny Chapman was the runner-up at 113 pounds.

Carter Rand (132) and Tate Taylor (215) won individual titles for Monmouth. Braden Mckenzie (175), Isaiah Trott (285), Nathan Lewis (190), Noah Schultz (157) and Samuel Schultz (150) placed second.
