BANGOR — An Augusta man was sentenced Monday to serve 17 years in federal prison following his conviction on drug and gun charges, according to federal prosecutors.
Ryan Partridge, 35, was arrested in 2023 after Augusta police stopped the vehicle in which he was riding, according to an announcement Monday from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maine.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found a backpack containing about 125 grams of fentanyl and a 9 mm pistol, according to court documents.
Partridge admitted the backpack and its contents were his.
At the time, Partridge was on probation for a 2019 conviction for aggravated trafficking of fentanyl, and had a pending arrest warrant for failing to report a change of address.
Partridge was sentenced in U.S. District Court to serve 204 months in prison, followed by four years of supervised release, for his conviction on charges of distributing and possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl and possessing a gun in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, according to the announcement.
The FBI and U.S. Border Patrol investigated the case, with help from the Augusta Police Department.
