Spruce Mountain pulled away from Mt. Abram in the second half to earn a 60-25 girls basketball win Wednesday in Salem Township.
The Phoenix (15-1) led 16-12 at halftime, then outscored the Roadrunners 44-13 over the final two quarters.
Maddie Grimaldi scored 16 points for Spruce Mountain, which has won eight straight games, while Avery Bessey added 15 on five 3-pointers and Lily Bellerose finished with 10.
Autumn Emery and Jenna Osgood each had six points for Mt. Abram.
GIRLS HOCKEY
EDWARD LITTLE CO-OP 5, WINSLOW CO-OP 0: Paige Fecteau made 25 saves for Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland/Monmouth/Oxford Hills (11-4-2) in its win over Winslow/Gardiner/Cony/Messalonskee/Erskine/Mt. Blue/Lawrence/Cony/Waterville (5-12) at Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn.
Leksi Langevin and Adeline Langan each scored twice and added an assist for the Red Hornets. Adalyn Martin also scored.
Maggie Blais and Zoey Gilbert combined for 23 saves for the Black Tigers.
