PORTLAND — Mainebiz announces the call for nominations for the 2025 Mainebiz Business Leaders of the Year Awards, a prestigious recognition program that honors exceptional business leaders who exemplify excellence and innovation in Maine.
This annual awards program celebrates individuals who have made a significant impact in 2024, demonstrating outstanding leadership, vision and contributions to their industries and communities. Mainebiz invites nominations from across the state to recognize the leaders who are setting the standard for doing business in Maine, according to a news release from the company.
Nominations are open in the following categories:
• CEO of the Year: Recognizing a for-profit company leader who achieved remarkable success in 2024.
• Entrepreneur of the Year: Honoring an entrepreneur who led their startup to new heights in 2024.
• Volunteer of the Year: Celebrating an individual who provided exceptional support to a Maine nonprofit or community organization.
• Industry Leader of the Year: Highlighting an individual who excelled in a specific industry, such as health care, manufacturing, or energy, to accomplish a significant milestone.
• Innovator of the Year: Recognizing a leader who introduced groundbreaking ideas, methods or products.
• Nonprofit Leader of the Year: Honoring a Maine-based nonprofit leader who achieved a significant milestone in 2024.
• Sustainability Leader of the Year: Celebrating an individual who advanced sustainability initiatives in Maine.
• Breaking Barriers Award: Recognizing a leader from the BIPOC, LGBTQ+, or New Mainer community who has made a meaningful impact on Maine’s business or nonprofit landscape.
• Lifetime Achievement Award: Honoring an individual whose long-term leadership and mentorship have left an indelible mark on Maine’s business community.

Award recipients will be announced in the March 24 issue of Mainebiz and honored at a special ceremony on April 9 at Ocean Gateway in Portland.
