Colby Carnes, Yarmouth junior defense: Carnes helped Cheverus/Yarmouth win its second straight Class B state championship. He scored six times in the playoffs, and his 15 goals this season led all defensemen in the state. He also had 15 assists.

 

 

Owen Cheever, Yarmouth sophomore defense: Another force on the blue line who helped Cheverus/Yarmouth repeat as state champion, the sophomore backed up his five goals and 13 assists as a freshman with 12 goals and 22 assists this season.

Sam Foley, Windham senior forward: Foley led all Class A skaters with 44 points (18 goals, 26 assists) and was a Travis Roy Award finalist. He helped the Trail Blazers to 22 wins in the last two seasons.

 

 

 

Alex Gadbois, Kents Hill junior forward: Gadbois finished the year tied for second in points in Class A with 42 (27 goals, 15 assists). Class A coaches named him a first-team all-state forward.

Drew Johnson, Thornton Academy senior goalie: Johnson was outstanding while helping the Golden Trojans to the Class A state championship, becoming just the third goalie to win the Travis Roy Award. He went 15-2-1 with a 1.77 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage.

 

 

Owen Kirk, Messalonskee senior forward: The Varsity Maine Player of the Year was a scoring threat his entire career, but took it to the next level this season. He led all Class A and B scorers with 68 points, including a state-high 44 goals, and added 24 assists. He tallied at least a point in every game but one. Kirk finished his high school career with 108 goals and 81 assists.

Aizyk Laliberte, Lewiston junior forward: After scoring 16 points in 2023-24, Laliberte had a breakout season for the Blue Devils with a Class A-best 29 goals, to go with 12 assists. He was one of only five Class A skaters to record 40 or more points.

 

 

Trent Lesieur, Thornton Academy junior forward: Lesieur led the Golden Trojans by recording 41 points (17 goals, 24 assists). He scored the go-ahead goal in the Class A championship game against Kents Hill.

Nick Needham, John Bapst senior defense: Needham helped the Crusaders reach the Class B state championship game and led all defensemen in the state with 39 points (13 goals and 26 assists). He recorded three or more points in eight games.

 

 

Jacoby Porter, Falmouth junior defense: Porter was part of a strong defensive core that helped the Navigators to a Class A semifinal appearance. A first-team selection by the Class A coaches, Porter tallied six goals and nine assists.

Jake Skillings, Thornton Academy junior forward: Skillings racked up 40 points, scoring a career-high 21 goals and adding 19 assists. He had five games with four or more points, including a six-point effort in the Golden Trojans’ 11-0 quarterfinal win over Windham/Westbrook/Bonny Eagle.

 

 

Brandon White, Falmouth senior goalie: White finished an outstanding career that featured a goals-against average below 2 in each of his four seasons. This season, he went 10-2-2 with a 1.92 GAA and .923 save percentage while helping the Navigators reach the Class A semifinals. He was one of five Travis Roy Award finalists.

 

COACH OF THE YEAR

Devin Fitzpatrick, John Bapst co-op: Fitzpatrick led the Crusaders to their first state final appearance. They had the best record in Class B North during the regular season and finished 19-2-1 overall after going 9-9-1 in 2023-24. Their season included a six-game and a five-game winning streak. Seven players had 10 or more points. The Crusaders allowed only 19 goals, and the goalies earned 10 shutouts.
