Angel Montas Jr. scored 33 points and UMass Lowell beat Maine 67-56 in the America East men’s basketball regular-season finale for both teams on Monday in Orono.

Maine fell to 8-23 overall and 6-10 in the conference with its second straight loss. The Black Bear are the No. 6 seed in the America East tournament and will face No. 3 NJIT in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Logan Carey and Mekhi Gray both scored 14 points for the Black Bears. Newport’s Ace Flagg, who was named America East Rookie of the Week on Monday, finished with nine points and five rebounds.

Victor Okojie had 11 points and 15 rebounds for UMass Lowell.
