1. Monmouth Academy
The Mustangs return all but one starter to the team that went 16-4 and won the Class C state title last season. Junior Levi Laverdiere (8-0, 0.38 ERA) dazzled on the mound for Monmouth, which also brings back senior Kyle LePage (4-1, 2.57 ERA) and adds standout sophomore Logan LeClair from St. Dominic Academy to the rotation. Junior Jacob Harmon, who batted .333 and averaged a hit per game in the regular season, leads the way at the plate for a team that averaged 7.9 runs per game.
2. Cony
The Rams seem to be in the mix every year in Class B North recently, and look like they will be again in 2026. Seven starters return from a team that went 15-3 last season. At the top of that list is standout shortstop Parker Morin, who batted .476 with 26 hits last year and was named KVAC Class B North Player of the Year. On the mound, a rotation that features junior Landen Perry (4-1, 36 strikeouts, 1.85 ERA) and seniors Morin and Max Tibbetts is one to be feared this spring.
3. Maranacook
Opposing coaches are raving about the Black Bears, and with good reason. Maranacook returns seven starters from a team that went 13-5 last year. Junior Noah Longfellow leads the way for the Black Bears on the mound (4-1, 47 strikeouts, 2.68 ERA) and at the plate (.346, 18 hits). The returns of junior Grady Hreben (42 strikeouts) and senior Caldre Glowa (.286, 18 hits, 14 RBI) also bolster Maranacook, which has been strengthened even further with junior pitcher and shortstop Jack Spellman, a transfer from Cony.

4. Messalonskee
The Eagles have posted six consecutive winning seasons, and have a good shot at another winning campaign this year under new coach Dylan Presby. In senior Denny Martin (.385, 20 hits, 19 RBI; 5-1, 2.89 ERA) and junior Sean Achorn (.372, 22 hits), the Eagles have two of the best players in Class A North. Senior Dagan Gooding and sophomore Quinn Charles are other returnees to the Messalonskee lineup. Achorn and sophomore Ben Bernier also give the Eagles two solid pitching options behind Martin.
5. Mt. Abram
If anyone can challenge Monmouth and Maranacook in Class C South, it might be the Roadrunners, who return six starters from a team that went 14-5 and fell to the Mustangs in the regional final last season. That includes seniors Killian Pillsbury (.391 average) and Kaiden Longley (.321; 4-0, 1.65 ERA), two all-MVC first-team selections. Junior Brennan Mitchell is another strong arm in Mt. Abram’s rotation, and juniors Bryce Cote and Landen Marble give the Roadrunners three returning starters in the outfield along with Longley.
