MADISON — Shoppers can expect new offerings — and perhaps need to relearn the locations of their go-to groceries — because of a planned remodel of the local Hannaford supermarket.

The Hannaford at 225 Upper Main St. is set to undergo a remodel that’s expected to be complete this fall, the Scarborough-headquartered grocery chain announced Thursday.

The project includes new produce and bakery sections, and increasing bakery items and hot prepared foods upon completion, the announcement said.

Hours are not expected to be affected during the renovation. The Madison location is open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Hannaford in Skowhegan, at 100 Fairgrounds Marketplace, has also been getting a revamp in recent weeks.

Informational signage at the Madison Hannaford will be posted and staff will be available to answer questions and provide guidance to customers, according to the announcement.

“We’re committed to serving the Madison community and want to make it as easy and convenient as possible for our customers to enjoy fresh, quality food at a dependable value,” store manager Will Wright said in a statement. “We thank our customers for their patience and understanding during this project and look forward to unveiling the newly remodeled store in the coming months.”
