Jack Cosgrove, the University of Maine’s leader in career football coaching victories, will be inducted into the school’s Ring of Honor during the upcoming season.
Cosgrove, the current coach at Colby College, earned 129 wins in 23 seasons with the Black Bears. He coached a school record 264 games and lead the Black Bears to five NCAA postseason appearances.
A quarterback during his playing days, Cosgrove earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s in educational administration. Including his playing career and time as an assistant coach and head coach, Cosgrove was at Maine for 36 years.
Cosgrove will join Thurlow Cooper, Mike Flynn, Chris Keating, John Huard and Hal Westerman in the Ring of Honor.
