Poulin scored twice in the first half, the second on a penalty kick after a Winthrop player received a red card for an intentional handball in the penalty box with 47 seconds left before halftime, putting the Ramblers (3-4) down a player the rest of the game.

Winthrop’s Harper Stasulus netted a shorthanded goal with 29 minutes remaining to cut the Hornets’ lead to 2-1, but a few minutes later the Ramblers lost their goalie to a red card when she was called for a trip on a breakaway, forcing Winthrop to play 9-vs.-11 for the remainder of the match.

Bilodeau then scored to goals off assists from Eris Cloutier and Poulin. Poulin added her third goal on another penalty kick, and Leavitt (4-5) sophomore Khloe Nadeau capped the scoring with four minutes to play.
