A million years ago, by which I mean this past June, Graham Platner called Sen. Susan Collins “corrupt.” He took a lot of flak for that. But new reporting from ProPublica seems to prove him right.
That Collins reportedly played “pay to play” with Navatek demonstrates a lack of judgment and ethics. Offering government contracts in return for a campaign contribution is the very definition of bribery. We should hope that the next Democratic administration pulls the files and reopens the investigation.
Collins must drop out of the Senate race and resign immediately. She is clearly not fit to serve. Self-dealing and insider trading have no place in the Senate. I feel she’s an embarrassment to Maine, and she has to go.
They said there was zero tolerance for sexual misbehavior when Senate candidate Graham Platner was accused (without further adjudication). Shouldn’t there be zero tolerance for plausible allegations of bribery and corruption by a sitting senator?
