John Christie leads an entourage down the Gray Ghost trail at Saddleback Mountain Saturday afternoon. The long time skiier who cut many of the trails on the mountain, including several on the recently added group of trails served by a new four-passenger chairlift, was recognized at a ceremony in the base lodge as part of a celebration of 140 years of skiing in Maine. Christie, a former executive at Sugarloaf and once owner of Saddleback is a well respected pioneer of skiing in Maine and was honored for the work he has done to promote skiing in Maine.
