In anticipation of snow and an ice storm, Doug Veilleux fills buckets with sand at the Winslow Public Works garage on Tuesday. Veilleux said he was allowed to leave early from Bath Iron Works and traveled in freezing rain. He added he needed the sand because his driveway is covered with sheer ice from an earlier storm.
