These porcelain objects are made with a gunmetal glaze and 24K gold accents. Ohio-based ceramicist Justin Teilhet crafts his porcelain objects using both a potter’s wheel and hand building. The tension between the simplicity of the forms and the dynamism of the radiating circles create compelling designs.
This table lamp of bleached, laminated cherry wood and lacquer finish was designed by Aaron Scott. He eschews 3D modeling, preferring to work from sketches and small scale models. “I’m fascinated by relationships of movement/stasis. Objects like propellers, gears and mechanical components often turn up in my work; so do objects that contain a suggestion of movement: molecular structures, topological forms, and certain bones,” Scott said.
A pendant light fixture of oak with oil and wax finish was designed by Aaron Scott, who began experimenting with stacked and laminated wood about 10 years ago. “I liked the idea of making wood a purely plastic medium, where curvature could occur along any axis,” Scott said.
