    Al Godfrey says a review of records kept for 91 years indicates that this year’s thaw of Maranacook Lake ice on March 21 is tied with the same date in 2010 as the earliest ever. Speaking in Winthrop, Godfrey said a boat must be able to traverse the lake before ice-out is declared officially.
