    Donald Vannah, 82, opens the doors to his garage to work on a truck at his home in Litchfield on Monday. Vannah recently hung the sign above the entrance to his shop, created by artist Terri Mason, that recounts his life of labor. Leaving the woods at the age of 75 after starting his logging career at 10, Vannah assumed the duties of caretaker at the Litchfield Plains Cemetery. Vannah digs each grave at the community plot by hand.
