Nate Walker takes a puff of a cigarette before being arrested Friday on a warrant by Augusta police, accompanied by FBI agents, parole officers and District Attorney Maeghan Maloney during a sweep by several law enforcement agencies through Augusta. The sweep netted several people wanted on warrants and detained on probation violations, according to Augusta police Lt. Chris Massey. “The collaboration between agencies makes these neighborhoods safer,” Massey said. “We’re out there to talk to people, and they appreciated our presence.” Augusta police plan on more “high-visibility patrols” in the future, he said.
