Norton said most farmers are getting only half the hay they harvested last year because the spring was so dry. “A rainy May mean lots of hay,” Norton said. “Hay will be worth a fortune in the spring.”

The church group from Maryville, Tennessee, was sightseeing after a mission to teach vacation Bible school at Sheepscot Valley Community Church in Whitefield. The chairs, donated by individuals and businesses, were recently put out on the bulkhead.

    Air Force Lt. Matt Bolduc examines a cane he received from the Waterville Elks Lodge while being recognized at the State House in Augusta Thursday for his service in Afghanistan.
