    Runners take off from starting line on Pierce Drive Thursday as they begin the Gasping Gobbler 5k in Augusta. First male finisher was Eric Hamel in 15:51.24 and first female finisher was Karyn Norwood at 20:02.45. There were 138 entrants in the fundraiser held by track and cross country teams to benefit Cony All Sport Boosters.

    Runners cross in front of the Cony Middle and High School's clock tower Thursday a little over a mile into the Gasping Gobbler 5k at Cony High School. The temperature was in the high 30s but felt warm in the bright sunshine. Shawn Totman said it was maybe the best weather they'd ever had for the event. Recent years race had included, ice, snow or bitter cold.

    These turkey topped trophies seen Thursday were to be awarded to the first male and female finisher in the Gasping Gobbler 5k at Cony High School. First male finisher was Eric Hamel in 15:51.24 and first female finisher was Karyn Norwood at 20:02.45. They also each won a frozen turkey, dinner rolls and a pie. In the age group awards first place was a frozen turkey, followed by the pie and rolls.
