A wreath was lowered into the water after the reading of John Masefield's poem "Sea Fever," according to a blog post on the Maine Maritime Academy website.

Crew members aboard the Maine Maritime Academy's training ship State of Maine held a ceremony Thursday to remember the victims the El Faro cargo ship, which sank off Bermuda on Oct. 1.
"I was moved before it began, when I went out on deck at about 0700 and saw the American flag flying at half-mast and signal flags flying to represent the last names of the MMA El Faro crew: D-R-K-H-M," said Maine Maritime Academy President William J. Brennan, according to a blog post on the school's website.
