    Angie Anderson and Greg Chapman roll tires into storage for the winter Sunday at their West Gardiner farm. The couple were storing the rubber for the trucks from their Gardiner heating oil business, Chapman's, after mounting the fleet with winter tires. The firm, managed by Anderson, also offers auto mechanic services and a boutique chainsaw shop in addition to fuel.

    Framed in the Vickery Cafe's holiday decoration, Tyler Barrows and his father John Barrows shovel the sidewalks on Water Street in downtown Augusta during the first big snowstorm of the season on Monday. John Barrows said that they are hired by building owners to clear the snow. Traffic was light around 8:30 a.m. since state offices, such as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention across the street in Key Plaza, weren't opening until 10 a.m.
