About 75 volunteers set out flags on the about 5,400 graves ahead of Memorial Day on Monday. All of the graves received American flags and Medal of Honor winners also got a special blue flag.

The bottom photo was taken around at 11 a.m. Thursday as the crew from Geddes Building Movers is in middle of the job of taking Dummer House to corner of Second and Central Streets in Hallowell. The space where the old home had stood will become a public parking lot.

    Investigator Jeremy Damren of the Office of the State Fire Marshall carries containers of evidence taken from 15 Summer St. in Skowhegan on Sunday, May 20. Investigators with that agency, state and Skowhegan police and firefighters blocked access to the home after resident Philip Ewing notified police Saturday evening that he was disabling a black powder cannon. Police reportedly found containers of bleach, gunpowder, gasoline and other explosive materials. Area homes were evacuated.
