    A man who said he was a lifelong friend of William Halley but declined to give his name surveys the remains of a pickup truck camper on Wednesday. The camper was incinerated after a suspected propane explosion. Halley died in the flames late Tuesday afternoon in Oakland. The fire also damaged a mobile home in the background and a recreational vehicle at right.
