Counters separate candidate ballots from referendum ballots at the start of a ballot recount of House District 82, which includes Litchfield, Wales and part of Monmouth, on Tuesday at the Elkins Building in Augusta. The recount confirmed that incumbent independent Kent Ackley won. He received 2,155 votes to Republican candidate Randy Greenwood's 2,139 votes. The recount included 93 blank ballots, for a total of 4,387 ballots in the race, according to a news release from the secretary of state's office.
