    Jillian Golden creates a “Kindness Matters” bookmark to leave anonymously in a favorite book at the library when she returns to school in Waterville this fall. The activity was part of Oakfest’s ShineOn Oakland Day on July 27 in Oakland. The ShineOnCass Kindness Matters Bookmark Project distributes bookmarks to area teachers, literacy organizations, libraries and book fairs, for children to write positive messages on and hide in books to help spread kindness in the community.
