On a ledge in the stairwell, Elizabeth Polansky, owner of The Styled Home, removes non- functioning blinds to let in more natural light – all part of the pre-photo staging process at 35 Buttonwood Lane in Portland last week.
Artwork, vases, and a plant from elsewhere in the home were employed to enhance the foyer.

Jill Butler, left, marketing manager at Dambrie Garon Real Estate at Keller Williams, helps Polansky move a chair from the living room to a downstairs bedroom.
Polansky removes a silk ficus from the master bath, and McQuinn folds fresh towels. The dusty ficus went to the storage room.
"Does this look crooked?" McQuinn, left, and Polansky re-arrange pictures on the wall of the lower-level great room. After removing two of the original five, they adjusted the height and spacing of those remaining.
Polansky flips bedding to achieve a more neutral shade in the master bedroom.

Polansky carefully removes a vase from the dining room shelving to use elsewhere in the home. "We 'shop' in closets and cabinets and everywhere to re-purpose furnishings," Polansky said.
