A dose of spring was expected to arrive over the weekend with temperatures predicted to reach the 60s. Underwood said business has remained steady this year despite the heavy snow.

    Students tell visitors about the character they’ve researched and are playing during an open house on Friday at Wayne Elementary School. The display was put on by the 19 students in Heather Chalmers combined fourth and fifth grade class. Each student portrayed a historical figure from America’s westward expansion in the 1800s. The third grade class also had a display of their geography projects.
