So if Sigi Koizar keeps scoring at her current pace through the rest of her junior season, then as a senior … put her down as maybe the sixth-best scorer in Maine women’s basketball history.
It’s not just basketball. Sigi Koizar found the love of a family when she arrived in Millinocket. That now includes 4-year-old Maddox Jandreau, with his “Aunt Sigi.”
Sigi Koizar wasn’t sure she wanted to play for the University of Maine after high school ball in Millinocket. Frankly, she wasn’t sure she was good enough, that she wanted the pressure of playing so close to Millinocket. But she took the chance, and today? She’s on course to be one of the program’s best players.
Sigi Koizar grew up in a small town south of Vienna, was attracted to basketball, became an exchange student at Stearns High and now runs the point for UMaine.
