8496# 04discyoga SKOWHEGAN, MAINE FEBRUARY 5, 2020. Lidi (cq) Jiang, of River View Yoga Shala (cq) holds a Namaste pose while doing yoga in her studio that overlooks the eddy of the Kennebec River in Skowhegan, Maine Wednesday 5, 2020. Jiang said the pose is a bow to one's inner self. Until about a week ago (January 29) a rare rotating ice disc dominated the waterway behind Jiang. Motorists passed along Route 2 that overlooks the river as the disc slowly rotated in the middle of the eddy. The current carved the disc's icy edge. The formation of the ice disc became the focus of public interest after frigid conditions and the water's current helped shape it around January 25. Local resident, and husband of Jiang, Mark Nickerson said he hadn't seen an ice disc in 25 years of life on the hillside that overlooks the eddy. According to Jiang, and another local resident, the disc disappeared during warmer temperatures that came to the area a week ago (January 29). (Staff photo by Rich Abrahamson/Morning Sentinel)
